Alzheimer's Society Cupcake Day is an annual event encouraging bakers all across the UK to dust off their baking bowls to raise funds for those affected by dementia
New Century Care homes across the UK have been dusting off their aprons and rising to the challenge by preparing delicious cupcake treats with and for their residents, and setting up refreshment stands outside their homes offering cupcakes in return for a donation.
All of the money raised for Alzheimer’s Society helps ensure that they can be there for even more people affected by dementia when they are needed the most. Donations help to fund expert research and life-changing care and support services.
- £2 could pay for a DNA duplicator, used to understand the genetics of dementia
- £50 is equivalent to 5 hours support for 5 people from the Alzheimer's Society helpline team
- £150 pays for 2 people with dementia to attend Singing for the Brain sessions for a year
The money made has yet to be counted. We will keep you posted!
