Ponies Surprise Residents at Sycamore Care Home

28 February 2017

Residents had the delight of welcoming some unusual visitors to Sycamore Hall on Tuesday 23 February.

Katy Smith, founder of KL Pony Therapy brought two miniature ponies from their home, in Darlington, to meet Sycamore Care Home’s residents earlier this week. Katy, who is an ex-carer, acquired her first miniature pony, ‘Mr P’, in 2011.

Mr P, an American miniature pony, who stands at just 29 inches tall, alongside his equally loveable companion, brought joy and smiles all-round to Sycamore Hall’s staff and residents. Care Home Manager, Christina Medway-Steel, commented: “We have enjoyed a few visits from the ponies over the years. The residents are always thrilled to see a tiny horse trotting in to see them. This time was no exception.”

“We have a busy, social and exciting calendar of events at Sycamore Hall, as we feel it’s important that everyone enjoys their lives to the maximum.”
